The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services to the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency reported it's alarmed with regard to the substantial amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office focused on service the area every day. The service issue established for intervention activities a higher influx of possible beneficiaries, that makes it tricky to the office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to enable the servicing of all prospects and enhance access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
